Re: Dartford Players of The Past

Not quite sure whether we are at odds Lars. Adam Hinshelwood was sacked at York, and is now manager at Worthing. So yes, Hinshelwood did rate Noor from his days as York manager.

Lars. The fans were mentioned towards the end of the interview with him looking forward to meeting them at the forthcoming social event.

Works out per game (21 matches):-

Adult - £10.71
Conc - £7.38
Over 80 - £1.67
Over 17/Student - £4.71

Still pays even if you miss a few games.

Looking at those prices I might start "identifying" as over 80 ;) ;)

Re: New Manager

When did you start supporting the Darts Lars?
A certain Tommy 'The Tank' Huckstepp certainly did the business for the Darts back in 1958-59, with 58 goals.
Right at the time I had just started supporting the Darts.

Re: New Manager

I am more than happy with Ben's appointment. I have been following his efforts at Margate for a while, as an ex Dart, especially as he was appearing quite often as a goalscorer.
I knew he has been working at our academy for some time, so I'm guessing he has been involved in the progress of some of ...

He would have had to guide us to an extra 28 points to avoid the play offs to beat Folkestone to the title!

Excellent production Spike. Thanks for that! Love it!!
I think I have a copy of one of the Tunnels in my collection, which I think I actually bought off Ebay at the time, some years after it was produced.

Re: Ady Departs

I'm not as pessimistic as some. have just Steve Irving's comments. The board do seem to be aware of issues.
I will be renewing my season ticket.
The fact we didn't get to at least the play offs I do put down to Adey and his tactics, because team selections, even according to radio commentaries ...

Re: Ady Departs

If Samir is becoming a barber, then that would surely allow him flexibility in splitting his hours between his job and his attention to DFC duties. Could even do some haircuts on the team bus to away games. Oops, silly suggestion, too many potholes on our roads nowadays!

Re: Ady Departs

Would there be any merit in considering Samir Carruthers. Now just turned 33. He knows the Dartford setup. He knows the current players and which he would like to keep. Has a footballing brain. Fans seem to have liked him and we seemed to miss him when he wasn't playing. If fit, he could be a player ...

Sadly and disappointingly, I will not now be travelling down for this game as intended, as an accidental injury to my foot will prevent me from being there. Still in a lot of pain. Ah well!! Always next season!!

Re: Isthmian Premier League News

Sad news indeed. I can recall VCD matches being reported in the old Kentish Times weekly local publication back in the 1960s, along with Brentstonians.

Can also recall VCD getting to the 5th round of the FA Vase in 2005/6 season, when they were drawn away to Cammell Laird (who were one of the ...

Sorry Skip. Only just seen your message in response to my comment. I'm very very surprised your original post didn't attract more views or comments, to be honest.

Rail tickets and seat reservations made for my trip down from Merseyside for this game. Booked early as Everton fans will be also be coming down to Chelsea in big numbers for that game, so let's hope we can get those 3 points we need to stay in contention for the play offs.

Really hoping we go into ...

Hadn't realised until looking at the NLF results that Alex Woodyard was playing for Folkestone, on loan from Sutton since January.

Re: Dartford FC feature in Football Focus magazine

Thanks for that link Skip. Long time no see. The article just goes to show how much goes on behind the scenes. It is also why I continue to buy my season ticket each year since the Darts returned to Dartford at Princes Park, even though I may only get down from Merseyside once or twice a season. I ...
