Re: DFC Player updates 26/27
If he plays as well as he did when at the club before that's a great signing

Very good keeper from what I remember from his first spell at the club.
Re: DFC Player updates 26/27
Thought Henley would be hard to replace but this is a great signing in my opinion

So it’s more than likely that Henley was told he’d a number 2 goalkeeper this season and feels he can still be a regular starter elsewhere. Ryan was very good for the few games he played for us before. Hopefully hits the ground running with a settled defence in front of him

Remember the name but can’t remember what season he was with us?

From memory Dowse brought him in after he had a really bad injury. Played a handful of games for us and looked good in all of them and quickly got snapped up by someone, I think that’s when he went to CrawleyBagdhad Billy wrote: Tue May 26, 2026 5:28 pm Remember the name but can’t remember what season he was with us?

Blimey, now I know why I can't remember him. The Dowson years
Well, I suppose if PL rates him it's probably a good signing. But in all my drinking years I can't say I remember him.
Probably explains a lot.

Sandford's departure to Crawley coincided with our dip in form and subsequent relegation.

In that case he sounds a bloody good signing.

Thanks PL and hero for the update

Re: DFC Player updates 26/27
Good to have Ryan back, one of Dowse's better signings. I can only assume that Ben feels that Ryan will be a better fit for the new playing out from the back style.

More encouraging news!
Re: DFC Player updates 26/27
Thanks DA M I agree with virtually everything you have said including the improvement in Jonny as the season developed however I was never happy with his positioning and I would hate to see him have another drop in form that would inevitable affect everyone around him. Sadly I cannot remember the new keeper playing for us but I remember his name and hopefully he will hit the ground runningDA Mikey wrote: Tue May 26, 2026 3:11 pm Rambo, your views on here are normally adroit. Henly had a mountain to climb in order to undo his poor start and to his credit, he did manage to get most of the fans back on side eventually. Olurewaju was a walking red card and a dubious captain. Why Jones was so much less effective than the previous season is still a head-scratcher.
One of our biggest problems last season was losing Carruthers and our manager not knowing the extent of the injury (or lying about it). I personally lost faith in Pennock after that particular debacle.
Thanks for the “adroit” comment but I wish I was as adroit in distinguishing which icons are edit and quoting another posters comment

Henley to Ramsgate

Re: DFC Player updates 26/27
To be honest I believe we got the better goalkeeper now, no surprise he went with Pennock but a little surprised Denzil and Callum not be signed by them yet,
Be good for us to get both the Sam's , Oly Box, & Eddie signed up

Those five are, pretty much, KEY to next season’s prospects I’d say. Imho, we need the lot!
