It is the same John Biddle that managed Dartford. He was 91.JCJ wrote: Thu Dec 18, 2025 1:37 pm I see Bromley have announced the death of their former manager John Biddle, I wondered if it was the same guy who managed us
You’re getting him mixed up with another JB, John Boyle (former Chelsea player). Both JBs were as equally atrocious as managers of the Darts which resulted in supporters demonstrating behind the main stand at Watling Street. The DFC directors acted swiftly in both cases as the managers were sacked within days. In the case of John Biddle’s sacking, our opposition that night was Weymouth and their supporters quite enjoyed the mass chanting of ‘Biddle out’…Happy days.Pedro wrote: Thu Dec 18, 2025 8:21 pm I remember him. It was the time when we went all American I think. The American style posts behind the football goals and shirts with two vertical stripes (like braces). Kicking cheap plastic footballs into the crowd for the kids to keep. Success on the pitch - not much!

Trev, I’m not sure how many supporters from that era are still breathing to contemplate a similar event should the need arise? Although I’ve no doubt there would be plenty of vocal encouragement from ‘above’!Trevor B wrote: Sat Dec 20, 2025 11:10 am Skip WroteSkipIn the case of John Biddle’s sacking, our opposition that night was Weymouth and their supporters quite enjoyed the mass chanting of ‘Biddle out’…Happy days.
I remember it well standing behind the goal and at the end of the match rushing to get behind the main stand and constantly chanting along with many others in the crowd Biddle Out Biddle Out
I wonder why that is, might be down the change of clownThe Futures White wrote: Sun Dec 21, 2025 10:27 am Davide Rodari has moved from Hampton & Richmond to Sutton United.
I saw him play for GWR away to Walthamstow about 18 months ago. He played centre half and weighed at least 18 stone but was still the most effective midfielder on the pitch from his constant long passing of the ball. It was an easy win for his team and I was glad I saw the gameMINTY wrote: Wed Dec 31, 2025 2:23 pm I saw that James White announced his retirement from playing last Saturday. I remember him playing for the Darts. Played for 22 years in non league. Last club Great Wakering Rovers.

That is true BB when Dartford are away I try to watch local teams to me and i was at Waltham Abbey and saw him there for the first time. I could not believe how good he was . He had a beautiful touch every time and a wonderful positioning . It seemed unreal in a huge body and teenage years. I wasn’t sure if it was a flash in the pan so I purposely followed him that season and saw him another three times and he was better each time.Bagdhad Billy wrote: Wed Dec 31, 2025 6:26 pmframbo wrote: Wed Dec 31, 2025 3:48 pmI saw him play for GWR away to Walthamstow about 18 months ago.
