Re: Dartford v Wingate & Finchley Sat 8 Nov 2025

This match brings up a personal milestone for me. 1,000 competitive matches. I appreciate that many around me on Saturday afternoon will have seen many more matches than I have, but nice to achieve, all the same. For the record, this will be the 742nd home match and I have witnessed 476 victories ...

Re: Dartford v Welling Sat 1 Nov 2025

We were slow out of the box and Welling threw everything at the first half. Thery were never going to have the fitness to repeat their constant tight press in the second half. We did not play particularly badly in that first half, but we were constantly hustled and had little time to settle. However ...

Re: Dartford v Welling Sat 1 Nov 2025

I have to admit that I am disappointed that this match has just become an early winter Saturday fixture rather than a Christmas, New Year or Easter special. I guess that the fixtures are computer chosen and that distance pairing overrides local interests and history. Boxing Day away to Chatham ...

Re: FA Cup, 1st round v Forest Green Rovers

My first match watching Dartford ladies and I have to say that it will not be my last. Having got over the shock of how young the teams looked (are we really that old?), we settled down to watch the match from the seats.

It was a joy to watch a match where talented players were able to entertain ...

Re: FA Cup, 1st round v Forest Green Rovers

I intend to answer the call for support and expect to have my good lady along for company.

Good luck to the Dartford ladies team in this FA Cup match.

Well done Dartford. Great result.

Thanks for the updates and the commentary. Hope to be at the ladies match tomorrow. Off to the pub tonight.

Back again this weekend and looking forward to seeing the 'new look' team further to the recent additions. Victory today will put us back in the mix at the right end of the table. Come on you Darts!

Following from a distance again tonight, but very pleased with the outcome. It sounds as though the recent changes have bought some stability and belief to the team. Looking forward to seeing the match on Saturday.

Well done Darts!

Re: Brentwood Town v Dartford Sat 11 Oct 2025

Not in the neighbourhood and missed the match today. Whilst many of our draws have felt like two points dropped, this one feels like one point gained.

Victory on Tuesday night will put us above our opponents, and possibly as high as seventh in the league. There is much to play for and I hope the ...

Re: Dartford v Burgess Hill Town Tue 30 Sep 2025

The highlights do not show how ridiculous the first yellow given to Olly was. The second was clearly highly contentious as shown in the highlights. Thus my earlier comments regarding the treatment of Olly by the ref in comparison to the opponent number 10 who committed two bad fouls, but was only ...

Re: Dartford v Burgess Hill Town Tue 30 Sep 2025

Just updating my records this morning and I see that I have now witnessed one win in seven games, yet also only one defeat. Draws appear the order of the day. No 0-0, or 5-5, but everything in between. Perhaps more of note is that in the eighteen matches that I watched last season, we conceded ...

Re: Dartford v Burgess Hill Town Tue 30 Sep 2025

What a disappointing performance against a poor opposition. With a penalty at 2-0, it should be game over. The penalty was saved and we failed to come out for the second half until the score was 2-2. Even then a lucky deflection gave us the lead back, but we could not hold on at home to see the game ...

Re: Dartford v Burgess Hill Town Tue 30 Sep 2025

Missed Saturday, but enjoyed the first half commentary. Was otherwise occupied during the second half, but kept up with Flashscores.

Looking forward to tonight as I will be unable to travel on Saturday when I hope that we can start a Trophy run. Results have felt disappointing to date, but I think ...

Re: Dartford v Cheshunt Sat 27 Sep 2025

If Dartford win we will move up to twelfth or thirteenth as most of the clubs immediately above us are not playing league matches today. Some are still in the FA Cup (remember that?). Follow that with a win on Tuesday evening and we will be pushing into the top ten. Two good results would make a big ...

Ladies rugby world cup for me today. Taking it easy as I have a ten mile trail run race tomorrow morning. Will be back on Tuesday evening hoping for a second home win in three days!

Time for this season to get started.

Re: Goodbye Dave

Sorry to read this sad news today. I only knew The Duke from standing close by him at many matches and through joining the general discussion about the game in front of us. He truely loved his football.

I send my condolences to his family and close friends.

At least we are quite accustomed to playing with less than eleven players on the pitch. Hopefully we can put our experience frrom almost every other away game this season to our advantage.

Re: Dartford v Canvey Island Sat 6 Sep 2025

With no game next week, we will be on a two week unbeaten run. Things already looking better. Hopefully some of the injured players will be available again when we play next.

Something has to change at the back. Eight games into the season and we have not come close to keeping a clean sheet.

As ...

Re: Dartford v Canvey Island Sat 6 Sep 2025

The days of the pitch being a critical part of the football club are clearly over. We try to encourage teams to warm up down the sides rather than in the goalmouth to prevent unnecessary wear, then we agree to host a charity match on the surface. I thought we had a plastic training pitch that could ...
