NEWHAVEN v DARTFORD away London & South East Regional MM League (Merry Melodies & Looney Tunes), Sun 17th Aug 2:30pm

Well here we go again. Welcome back to the circus. The London & South East Regional Mickey Mouse League returns to action under the stewardship of the Petts Shop Boys. So here's the latest, post the swept under the carpet League Cup Final where the West End Girls never showed up. So far we've had the link to the forthcoming fixtures for 2025/26 placed on the L&SERMML site. But there were no fixtures available, just the new league table which has also now been removed along with the link. Maybe this was partly due to the table showing the season has been extended to 26 games with Ashford and occasional participants Haywards Heath being reprieved.
I sincerely hope not. Thankfully the opening fixture is against Newhaven. If it was Heath I wouldn't even bother looking at travel arrangements, by risking money on train tickets for a ghost fixture. And if they have been reprieved I'll be demanding what the reasons are for retaining a club that in all honesty should have been booted out of the league, but was allowed to complete the season by accumulating a grand total of minus four points. I'll soon be straight on the Petts Shop's Boys backs complaining It's A Sin. Then I'll beg, borrow and steal every single penny I can lay my hands on with a view to finding a bookie, who'll give me decent odds on Darts finishing 3rd behind Brentford and Saltdean. Three other clubs had points deductions last season. Ebbsfleet was one of them. Wouldn't have been anything to do with the weakened side fielded during the back to back 6-0 rollovers by any chance? It's Always On My Mind.
If it was down to me, would I sack the Petts Shop Boys tomorrow?
Left To My Own Devices I probably would.

There's been some movement heading towards the exit via the back passage.
Fixtures are up at last. The part timers are definately gone and there's only one Ashford. But not in Kent.

The new season is just days away now and another rollercaster ride beckons. Newly promoted Brentford have practically signed a brand new team, which wasn't entirely unexpected. Our opponents on Sunday have also added some experience to their squad signing midfielder Katie Cooper from Worthing and defender Sienna Howell from Saltdean United. Meanwhile back to back 6-0 specialists in failure Ebbsfleet have been shunted off to Rochester.
Closer to home Connor and Macca have had a spot of rebuilding to do after six players from last season have moved on. Five of which, when fit, would have been the first names on the team sheet. However, from what I've heard it sounds like our management duo have recruited well. I'm looking forward to watching the new signings like Mercedes Bromfield in action. What's really encouraging though, and a player who could have a massive say on where we finish this season, will be watching Paris Smith causing havoc on the front line. It certainly sounds like she's got her shooting boots on.
It's a new season with fresh challenges. Including for me.
It'll be a 600 mile round trip living on a National Express coach for two days with a football match sandwiched somewhere in the middle!
The things we do for love. Or maybe I should just be sectioned.
If they can catch me.

Any diversion would be welcome. The coach arrives in Brighton at 3:35 am. In the absence of finding an all night cafe it'll have to be a 10 mile walk along the seafront to Newhaven. And I'll still be too early for breakfast.
