No chance they will change this one is there as it’s Good Friday the day before is there?
Re: Carshalton Athletic v Dartford Sat 4 Apr 2026
This could be the most interesting set of fixtures remaining this season. By Saturday evening, our chance of achieving a play-off position might be much stronger provided that we beat Carshalton. Carshalton have only lost one of their last five league games, but four of those were against teams in the bottom half of the division. The exception was Folkestone, who may have felt the pressure of the possibility of winning the league in front of their own supporters yesterday.
Brentwood (5th) are four points above us, but have to travel to Burgess Hill (8th) who are six points behind us. Defeat for Burgess Hill will remove them from the play-off place permutations.
Billericay (4th) are five points above us, but have to travel to Cray Wanderers (7th) who are three points behind us. Defeat for Cray will all but remove them from the play-off permutations.
Chatham (3rd) are six points above us, host Aveley (2nd) who are seven points above us. Defeat for Chatham would make their Easter Monday match away to Dartford a more interesting affair. However, if they beat Aveley, they will be looking to secure second place to enjoy the benefit of home advantage in the play-off matches. Saturday is a massive match for Chatham. If Chatham lose on Saturday, the match on Monday may decide the fate of either or both teams as all other play-off hopefuls are likely to win their respective matches provided that there are no upsets.
Folkestone are likely to be crowned worthy champions at the end of their match away to St Albans. They fluffed their lines yesterday in front of their own supporters by failing to beat Carshalton.
Buckle up and enjoy the ride!

Just so long as we beat all our opponents who start with a letter "C".
Re: Carshalton Athletic v Dartford Sat 4 Apr 2026
Starting with Chelmsford would have been nice!!

Carshalton offer free entry for Women.
From their website:
Why
Women’s football lags behind the men’s game as a result of a 50 year ban imposed by the FA in 1921 – at that time it was decided that Women playing football was inappropriate (Really!) . Before it was banned, Women’s football was very popular and rivalled the Men’s game.
The ban was lifted in the 1970s, but (even now) Women’s football has not fully recovered from the 50 year exile – neither on the pitch nor in the stands
Our free-admission campaign is just doing our bit to put Women’s football “front-and-centre” alongside Men’s football.

Or, asking for a friend, if you’re a woman only at weekends?Park Life wrote: Wed Apr 01, 2026 2:26 pm What will they do if everyone turns up and says "i identify as a woman"
Whatever, it’s gagging for a fancy dress (drag) turnout by Darts fans. (I know one or two who don’t have to try too hard!)

Gonna be honest I didn’t even realise this was an April Fool’s joke. I just assumed from the wording it meant free entry to women’s games
Can imagine the confusion for the poor guy on the turnstile as half the travelling support come out as trans for no apparent reason

Strangely worded from CAFC then. Why are they talking about women’s football when it’s an offer for admission to men’s?
(I’m all for women’s football, women at men’s football, women in general… just found it very confusing!)

What a massive 3 days and 2 games we have coming up! By Monday and 5pm our season will either be over with the prospect of another lovely season or 7 in this division or we could actually be in a play off spot !
Brentwood seem to be the most catchable and I don’t think their home game Monday against Welling is going to be easy.
Their results only matter though if we continue to win our games….

I want the right to play women’s football.
It’s symbolic of our struggle against oppression.

Tough match, tough weekend. Carshalton on a roll as are we. But winnable with the right attitude and if we take our chances.
Is Tennent back from injury do we know?

Tennent hasn't been injured, he has been on the bench for the last two matches. Prior to that he was suspended for the matches at Cheshunt and Folkestone.ozymandias wrote: Fri Apr 03, 2026 9:18 am Tough match, tough weekend. Carshalton on a roll as are we.
