I had heard the rumour that Trump got involved in the negotiating. Apparently he told Steve Irving in no uncertain terms that he was in taking control of the situation and wanted 'Pillock installed straight away '.
"I've checked out this guy and I want him taking charge right now" he went on "he's too biggly a man to lose".
Negotiations carried on well into the night before Trump had his man.
Work starts tomorrow on digging up the stadium to see 'if there's anything under there'. And those red walls have got to come down.
Trump was last seen leaving in a golf cart to 'tackle that course out back, I haven't won there yet '.
JD was heard to say that "he hadn't won anywhere yet, not properly". Trump is said to be reviewing his Top advisors job, minutes after standing down as Vice president.
I'm bored.

Just seen a post from Samir giving thanks to the management and fans ect and he finished off with see you next season.
Going by that it looks like he is staying

That is brilliant news. I genuinely thought we wouldn't be able to keep Olly Box.
I was also thinking that Whitefield and Olopade could be central to building a long-term 'core' to our squad so I'm really happy that they're staying on. Looking forward to next season now

This has now been deleted, read into that what you will. Think it’s worth keeping in mind that signing a new deal is different to being retained.

Still showing for me. The wording of the posts suggests that there was an optional extension clause that the club have used. Guessing that means if bigger clubs come sniffing then they'll have to pay up. Good forward thinking if that's the case

The club have just amended the wording to:-
"Dartford FC is pleased to announce that it has exercised the option clause in the contracts of the following 11 players"

With today's good news re signings the squad now looks like this:-
Management Team: - Ady Pennock, Rolland Edge, Les Cleeveley & Neil Withington
Goalkeepers:
Defenders: Sam Okoye, Sam Odaudu, George Whitefield, Luther Williams, Dean Nayler,
Midfielders: Denzelle Olopade, Jeremiah Pinder, Joseph Kpake,
Forwards: - Callum Jones, Olly Box, Gabe Campbell, Ashdon Day,
Below are the remaining players awaiting updates on:-
Goalkeeper - Jacob Marsden
Defenders - Josh Hill, Michael Olarewaju
Midfielders - Samir Carruthers, Tyler Christian-Law,
Forwards - Eddie Dsane, Duane Ofori-Acheampong
Loan players - Hayden Bullas, Louis Dunne
We also used ex academy lads Todd Brand and Blu Husthwaite in the league last season.

I’m not sure how all this works. Confused of Dartford. There’s a massive difference between ‘retained’ and ‘contact clause.’ Are you saying, Parky, that that list are definites? Or am I correct in thinking they can leave but we get a fee? What appears to be clear is that we ain’t released them.

Reading the clubs statement my understanding is that when these players signed last season we had the option of another year (this season) and the club has taken up those options.
So they are all signed/contracted for this season and if another club wanted any of them the club could release them if wanted and/or demand a fee.
