I could only stay for the first half but achieved my aim to check out the new additions in the ground rather than watching the whole match.
The Skinners Bar was a treat for me having an early drink and sitting with most of the usual fans that would normally have been in the main bar at our usual round table.
I am sure that Dave Skinner would have been proud to have his name associated with this bar which is well decorated with walls of photos and caricatures of players throughout the past years and I thoroughly enjoyed the drink company & surroundings.
The pizza's look good from the van but I didn't try one and the queues for the Darts Grill were the longest I can remember well after the start of the game and hopefully this was due to being very busy with the higher than usual attendance today.
I saw us concede the first three goals before departing and felt it unfair to comment on our performance given it being the first game and against the
much higher opponents than normal.
A break now for a couple of weeks before our next friendly.

Fist opportunity to post since the game and it was a good day on and off the pitch.
New season ticket holders bar was good, with all the pictures of former Darts on the wall it felt like a proper DFC football bar.
Add to that the new Sweet Spot and the revamped Darts Grill which are now run by the club, drinking allowed on the terraces plus the Pizza and Grill bars down the terraced side there are plenty of food and drink outlets. Thumbs up and well done to the club, small changes but made a big difference.
On the pitch obviously a big gap between the two sides with Charlton now several divisions above and i believe only our second week back with a completely new squad. Difficult to judge our players on just 45 mins, however we played some decent stuff at times and on the ground. When we get some more weeks training under our belt and start playing teams closer to our level we will get a better idea of how we will do but the signs yesterday were pretty good and it was better than i expected at this stage. With the few additions Ady says he still wants to make i'm feeling a lot more optimistic than a few weeks/months back.
Second half we changed the entire team with a lot of academy lads who did well, difficult to judge the triallists but i'm sure Ady had his eye on them and will have a better idea about them after yesterday.
By the time the season starts it will be virtually a completely new squad and i believe it will take a few months into the season for things to settle down, but all in all a good day yesterday with a good crowd and a nice few quid made.

Echo Parklife's comments about the changes at PP , impressive and full marks to the Club with the many years atmosphere starting to return , as for the playing side agree its early days but a ALL of the lads played as though they meant it and Denzelle [ who got MOTM ] had some very good touches , great goal by the new striker Callum Jones who along with Duane [ great to have his enthusiasm back] looked lively and were often seen in goal scoring positions
It augers well well for the coming season and like many others looking forward to it !!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was impressed with everything yesterday. Perhaps not the 30minute wait for a burger though. But put that down to the big crowd and first day hiccups.
