Danny Scopes, formerly of Aveley, is the new Billericay manager.

Contentious sending off Milenkovic of Serbia after a foul on Kane. Reminiscent of Ben Frempah's sending off at Dulwich Hamlet.
A good argument that Kane was running towards the corner flag and not at goal. Not all iffy referees are officiating in the Isthmian. Just quite a few.

I also thought of Frempah’s Red when I saw that. Kane would still have had to beat a defender (or try an audacious first time shot).
Only difference is that Milenković slid in with little chance of winning the ball and Frempah clipped the heels trying to get goal side. Intent makes no difference outside the box but Milenković might have lost any ‘benefit of the doubt’ by sliding in like that

Folkestone send a big message to the rest of the Isthmian league with a beating of Maidstone in the FA cup last night.
It was on the cards with Saunders being made manager before the end of the last season , they were sending messages back then.

Money going in there and another plastic pitch to counter this season, mind you with the mud bath we played on last season???

I see that Faversham have earned an away game at Ebbsfleet in the next round of the FA Cup after putting out Maidenhead in the previous round.
Can't see them repeating a cup killing but they did get more than us from their exploits.

Went to see Faversham play Margate last night. Tommy Wray had a steady game and Ronnie Vint played at the back. First half Margate stood up to a lot of early pressure and with Ben Greenhalgh still a handful going forward the first half was pretty entertaining.
Faversham had their new keeper on show and after rave reports on him up at their win at Maidenhead, I can understand why. He kept Margate out with two point blank saves first half and in the second pulled off a stunning save from a shot from outside the box. He spent much of his time as an extra defender and ruled his 18 yard box.
Second half Margate dominated play and Faversham had a player sent off for a scything tackle on Greenhalgh when he went through on goal in the 70th minute. Faversham held out .
Margate also brought along the screaming banshee that wails throughout the game. She stands alone (not surprising) and even Faversham supporters were commenting on her. I would have taken my rifle up had I known she'd be there but I should have guessed.
The Fav keeper is a lad named Roshan Greensall and I don't think he'll be at the club for long. He's confident and get's the ball out into play quickly.
Watch this space.
Excellent programme by the way. The football was pretty good too.
The only down side was the plastic pitch. Still you can't have everything.

He has now left Billericay, his second club of the season, because of a lack of game time. Worth a punt?.

I see a Chichester City lad is in an induced coma after running into a concrete post at the weekend.
Hope he makes a good recovery.
This was on the BBC news this morning and I presume the lad was playing football at the time. It's not very clear.

Billy Vigar who was playing for Chichester City and sustained a head injury last Saturday has passed away. He was put into an induced coma but sadly did not make it.

FA statement today:

“Whilst the health & safety of participants & spectators at the National League System level is the responsibility of the clubs & their local authorities, we will now conduct an immediate review…that will focus on the safety of perimeter walls”.

So sad that such an incident should happen for the poor young player. Whilst it is right to do such a review and make all necessary changes for player safety etc, this could also place a burden of cost on clubs already struggling.
