Standing in the open uncovered end at the start of the game i think we all realised how difficult it was going to be for both teams.
The pitch was a bit bumpy and with the swirling wind it was pretty clear it wasn't going to be a classic.
I thought Folkestone were slightly the better side first half but never really troubled us so 0-0 HT was probably right.
Second half we improved and again found a way to win when we weren't a our best, although tbf the conditions didn't help.
Strange that both sides seemed to do better playing against the strong wind.

Thought the ref had a poor game and seemed to get the big decisions wrong including cautions and what looked to me a stone wall pen.

Support today was very good with the Darts fans turning out in good numbers.

MOTM - Clean sheet away form home so a few players in the running but i gave it to Callum, always gives 100% and got the winner as well.

Proper old school away day with lots of die hards and plenty of singing.
All hail the DFC juggernaut.

One of the results of the season that. Listened to it on their commentary which was fair and unbiased. Even to the point that their commentator thought the referee was a tit too and was relieved the penalty was not given. He then went on to say that the ref had lost control and twice had to be advised by a linesman. That’s very poor these days. But we do seem to attract them. Well done lads for battling against the odds.

Whatever he has done to change our fortunes has clearly worked, and I just hope it continues.

Proper away win that, battling against a good Folkestone team, the elements and another dire referee. Haven’t sung so much at a game as yesterday - the atmosphere behind the goal was electric.

I’m going with Callum for MoM for another tireless performance and the all-important goal. Great to see big Michael back too.

I gave my motm vote to Denzelle as he has vastly improved over the last month or so. Yes, there were good performances all over the pitch especially from Callum again but Denzelle is getting better with each game.
I hope Sam is okay after getting taken off early second half and I thought some of the play acting from a few Folkestone players could have led to a penalty had one of them got in the box such was our gullible whistle blowing Ref.
Good defending kept them to very few chances and our break out of defence had them rattledat times. We should have had a penalty second half but it felt good when Callum scored and our overall game turned much smarter after that. Three good points in poor conditions and it was good to be back at Folkestone's ground again.

Cynical foul on Okoye, the guy raked his boot down the back of his ankle.
Hard worked win in terrible conditions. But the best team won.

Absolutely spot on Oz - awful play acting from them. Their No.2 was Gavin Hoyte wasn’t it? Maidstone scum.

Stone-wall penalty not given - there was no reason for either linesman to be there yesterday as they did absolutely nothing other than to flag ball out of play and offsides.

Denzelle is becoming a beast in midfield - so good to see!

Some ref's can tell their assistants that they will give the decisions on free kicks and penalties but when it happens right in front of them surely they have to wave the flag for fouls??
And for some of the throw in's?? The lino's was letting their players get away with murder at times, and not just a couple of feet.
Hate to say it but if Drury instills that sort of behaviour into his players I'm glad he got his comeuppance. They were not great to watch.

I know that Oz, I used to officiate at this level. I could name a few refs that gave the instruction to their Lino’s not to get involved with foul play. Piss poor in my opinion, and bloody arrogant!

Same here. As you know Tone. There was nothing worse, as a lino at this level, being ‘instructed’ by a ref to NOT get involved in foul play and misconduct. Even with a small crowd behind you it said absolutely nothing for one’s credibility if you were not to flag for an ankle breaker two yards in front of you. I recall a Margate striker continually shouting to me to, “F off you C” every time I ‘flagged’ him offside. The supporters of the other club thought I had no bottle. Ref didn’t want to know. If I was the ref in that situation, the player would only say it once. The next time would be at the mirror in the dressing room!

I'd think in that situation I'd have reported the referee or at least hope you didn't officiate with him again. At least with my branch I felt I had their back.

Drury say's new defender Joe Tyrie will fit in well given time. I thought he was halfway there with his antics Saturday. Rolled around quite well
