Re: Ady Departs
I genuinely fear we are walking into a relegation scrap next season,
No manager, no announcements from the club, who’s talking to the players we want to retain?
If as fans we are concerned the players will also have concerns and I expect most of the decent players are already in conversations with interested clubs about next season.
I don’t trust our board to A be pro-active in this crucial time and B pick the right person for the job as has been seen since King left and I totally agree it feels like the CV needs to state I’m a “yes man” to be considered for the role so it doesn’t upset the boys club mentality of the board.
Ady was a nice guy however he wasn’t I think good enough to get us promoted and certainly wouldn’t be good enough to keep us the right side of the line in the NLS.
Unless this once great club changes direction soon we will be back in the Kent league at this rate but don’t worry “at least we will still have a club”.
So dejected as a Darts fan surely it can’t get any worse??

This has to be a wind up?Pedro wrote: Tue Apr 28, 2026 12:26 pm Yes, the club could have done something -increased the budget, including Ady's salary.
Oh well. Onwards and hopefully upwards.
COYD
Increase his wages?
It’s very apparent he was talking to Ramsgate long before it leaked on Saturday.
His recruitment last season was dire, why trust him with more money?
Half the players he signed last summer had left within a few months, we then sign an in form winger (he loves wingers) from hashtag and never play him.
Glad he’s gone which hopefully means we keep a few of the players who didn’t get a fair shot from him.

Re: Ady Departs
Well the club have supposedly dwindled down the list of managers from an initial 24 who all applied last Friday as soon as it was announced that Ady was going, down to a short list of 5.
No idea as to who those 5 are but I honestly hope that whoever the lucky person is we’ll hear about it within the next few days.
Both the club and the new manager need to start acting fast and talking to the players as to which ones we want to keep before they decide to go elsewhere or get offered better deals from other clubs. Then they can talk to those they wish to release so they then have time to look elsewhere, no point in dragging our heals over all of this.
Plus we need to start acting fast to make some new signings and agree the right deals before they get snapped up by someone else.
The season has only just finished and the new season doesn’t start for another 4mths but pre season starts beforehand and terms and deals start immediately. Let’s not get hung out to dry and miss the boat on players again.
As for the Ady situation and the board then I dare say we’ll get another apology from the board again at the next AGM as they realise they’ve cocked up and acted very slow yet again as they did with the previous clown but what can they do now as it’s to late. They can only learn from their mistakes and try not to do it again blah blah blah.
It’s funny how us as fans on the terraces can see exactly what’s going on and the mistakes / poor decisions that are being made yet the board can’t seem to see it.
OR is it more a case of they can see it but choose to ignore it in the hope it might go away and things will improve.
Unfortunately DFC are in a bad mess and unless things start to improve and we get some kind of major financial investment then we will either stagnate and rot in this league or drop further.
As for Ady and his team posing for pics as the new Ramsgate crew it just goes to show the lack of professionalism and absolute lack of respect from them to the club that they couldn’t even wait until after the clubs presentation night which I’m assuming none of them will be attending. It’s disgraceful

Re: Ady Departs
After nearly going up as champions and losing the play off final at home last season, I logically hoped we would push on this season. Instead we basically settled into being 'top half of the table'.
That shouldn't be acceptable to the club or fans. I live abroad so I don't see the games but Ramsgate must see something in Ady that I don't. I wish Ady the best, but my only qualms about him going are regarding what rubbish we get lumbered with next. Now is the time for them to bring in someone who can get us back up. Anything less will backfire. We need to move forward now and I hope the board understand that if we dont, backwards is the alternative.

Re: Ady Departs
I can’t honestly see why anyone would want the job. More clubs will overtake us, so we’re more likely to go down than up, particularly with the board’s lack of ambition. So any manager at this level or higher will tarnish their reputation. And anyone who’s any good from a level below will be at a club with more ambition. I expect we will appoint someone like Samir or Bonner, I.e. no managerial experience. That’s where we are.

Re: Ady Departs
Does anyone know what Ady’s contract situation was? When it was announced last year that he had renewed his contract, it didn’t say for how long.
So either he was still under contract and we should get a fee from Ramsgate
Or his contract was up at the end of the season and he was free to look elsewhere, meaning that the club had someone they liked but didn’t lock him in

if they have whittled it down to 5 be nice to hear this from the club,The 5th Searcher wrote: Tue Apr 28, 2026 2:22 pm Well the club have supposedly dwindled down the list of managers from an initial 24 who all applied last Friday as soon as it was announced that Ady was going, down to a short list of 5.

Re: Ady Departs
I would imagine that the manager shortlist is.
1) Steve McKimm
2) Gavin Rose
3) Haken
4) Angelo Harrop
5) Rod Stringer
6) Tom Bonner
We don't just need a new manager, we need someone at the top who can control the club on a day to day basis. Can't we just tap up Sophie Purves, I know M1 would agree with me.

Just to add. We seem to go out of every cup competition at the first opportunity. A run in the cup brings revenue.

f*cking good riddance!
Whomever it is, I don’t want that massive underwhelming experience again that happened to me at the announcement of Pennock.

Re: Ady Departs
From that list, I'd exclude one in particular!
However, there's another one that's been successful with most previous clubs, taking them into the National
South / Prem and he's even shown a keen interest, while visiting this past season, expressing a great wish to manage the DFC.
However, we come back to the restricted / maximum finance... Perhaps PP could be attractive for its potential 'business' and revenue, with positive and calculated risks, alongside a lucrative men and women's cup runs. At least it'd be led as a properly - run professional organisation, without being accused of being the boys' club, as has been challenged so often!

Hakan is too arrogant and failed ad Dulwich, Stringer contributed to putting Welling in an almost impossible position.
Why would you even suggest 2 managers who have more chance of putting us in the league below than above.
Clueless
Re: Ady Departs
Unless he was paying them out of his own pocket and asking for it back how can a manager go over budget when the club manage the finances. Either way it doesn't make sense as ultimately the club would have had to approve/give him the money as SURELY it must have been all done through the books...........Jonty wrote: Tue Apr 28, 2026 3:58 pmI don't suppose we would risk taking on a manager who goes over budget.WillDfc42 wrote: Tue Apr 28, 2026 3:51 pmHarrop is levels above all the other managers in this listJonty wrote: Tue Apr 28, 2026 3:14 pm I would imagine that the manager shortlist is.

Re: Ady Departs
Be good to get a manager who would put in a few youngsters or at least when thinking of signing another mediocre or injury prone “senior” player compares a youngster to said player and evaluates whether the senior play is better and will provide better value. Hopefully stop some of the shite signings we have seen in recent years!
