The official title is the L&SERLWFL League Cup. Try putting that up on the fixture board if it was at home. In view of last season's debacle it almost makes the competition sound serious with something tangible to play for. Like a goldfish in a plastic unengraved bag if we're lucky.
So here we are again, entering the League something or other at the second round stage. We're still the cup holders apparently, even though I have no recollection of last season's final or the journey to Maidstone and back. As for the Irish Club, I must have been totally out of it by the time I got there. I don't even know who dropped me home.
Anyway, it's Richmond & Kew away on Sunday. It all sounds rather posh doesn't it?
The venue is Ham Playing Fields. Good grief. Watch out for the Yorkshire Terrier off the lead. No doubt it'll enter the field of play and head the ball past Jade Charlton in the dying seconds. And you know the referee's going to give it don't you.

This tin-pot league will probably let Richmond field 11 players, and Kew can do the same.

Although I wasn't present for the second round of the prestigious Pett's LEAGUE FCUK-UP CUP, not presented last season due to the unengraved goldfish being mistaken for a floating carrot in a prank that went horribly wrong, today's victory was significant for two reasons in particular.
First it was absolutely fantastic to see Meghan back in action today.
And secondly, but no less important, what a wonderful full debut for Harriet who kept a clean sheet.
Once again thanks to Connor Brennan who's is always my eyes and ears for the games I can't get to, with regular updates via the Dartford Women's twitter feed.
I thoroughly enjoyed following the game from the confines of J D Wetherspoon's in Blackpool with the merlot flowing nicely.
