Fans Forum - Part 2

Re: Fans Forum - Part 2
I thought we were already in year 2 of the 5 year plan. Spoiler alert, we are still in year 1.
Looking forward to hearing the full SP. Looks like it coincides with the Shareholders AGM.

Re: Fans Forum - Part 2
First I have heard about a AGM, normally get an email about it,
In the first year of the five year plan we were looking for promotion back NLS, so if we don’t manage promotion I assume the five year plan becomes a six year plan

JCJ, I received an email from Jack, along with various attachments for the AGM. You might want to check that you are on the mailing list.

Don’t think some of our Board members were on the mailing list either regarding the five ( or six, or seven etc ) year plan

Re: Fans Forum - Part 2
Thanks Spike and Grassbank for your answers in the Brentwood thread. Continuing it here to stay on-topic
What I'm getting is that the club setup worked well for the post-92 rebuild, and, with the stadium situation, allowed us to build the momentum (in terms of attracting fans and players) that got us up to the conference. That momentum stagnated, and I remember a club statement in either 13-14 or 14-15 that we would not risk overspending just to stay in the league, which seemed fair enough.
However, we are now in a situation where that momentum has long gone, and one bad NLS season has left us in a league competing with clubs that are much more willing to splash the cash.
The culture within the board appears to be one of risk-aversion: don't risk our ground deal by upsetting the council with parking; take a smaller but secure income from the bar by outsourcing it; don't allow large stakeholders in the club; keep a low playing budget, etc.
The frustration from fans appears to be a few things, but mainly that we are being overtaken by smaller clubs, and seeing the board's risk aversion as inactivity or being happy with where we are.
Fair assessment?

Ahead of tomorrow's Fans' Forum, it may be wise to glance through the "Constructive ideas" Thread, 03/06/24, so as not to waste time on 'unhelpful' items but to also check on the adopted and progressed ones?
One that sticks out seems to be a need for a reliable and trustworthy team of volunteers throughout, including match days and week days, 'willing to do', maybe with 'professional skills and know- how too?

Re: Fans Forum - Part 2
I would genuinely like to know, if we didn't have a "5 year plan", what we would be doing differently as compared to what we are currently doing in order to adhere to the plan.
I suspect I already know the answer.
It's not really a thing, is it.

Re: Fans Forum - Part 2
I can’t get down to Kent tomorrow due to work here but please provide updates when you can fellow Darts
My take is that people ( the way they are generally) and from what I hear think the club is totally unambitious and are happy to tread water in whatever league - when you think where we were just 12 years ago and now with the likes of Chatham Ebbsfleet Maidstone Tonbridge Dover Bromley ahead of us (I could be watching Norwich at Hayes Lane next season

) it says alot and makes me sad. The lack of official info hasn’t changed really and so perhaps we should ask for a club restructure coz at the moment it kills me to say ‘ we ain’t going anywhere’ in a positive manner.
Cheers guys. Hope it is constructive
We need to be back in the National South as a matter of urgency

Re: Fans Forum - Part 2
Perhaps if the club could state when the link would be sent it might stop all these requests? Last year I received it a few hours in advance if I recall correctly.

I didn't even get the email let alone the link!!!! Got to admit it seems a shame to see the way not only the team but the organisation is going down hill fast.
