HAYWARDS HEATH v DARTFORD 15/09/24 Postponed

Post by Ajaxman DFC »

I was looking forward to this one but alas I've had to cancel my rail ticket at the expense of a £5 admin charge for a transaction which took 30 seconds to purchase online.
While hoping a major tragedy hasn't occurred Haywards Heath Town, for reasons known only to themselves, have postponed the game.
This season has barely got under way yet here we have another club who has failed to fulfil it's fixtures.
There is no mention of the postponement on the FA's website in what is now becoming a Mickey Mouse league with 3 basket cases already.
And next up are the clowns of Sutton United. They cancelled their fixture at Ebbsfleet two weeks ago with 3 hours notice. The reason for that gets them no sympathy whatsoever from me either. So this will be one to look forward to. That's if they turn up ofcourse.
We really could do with promotion this season because I firmly believe our girls are now too good
for this level and deserve better than being messed around by clubs who can't get their house in order.
I hope a friendly can be arranged for Sunday but I won't be holding my breath with the season in full swing. And there is not much time to get anything arranged.
After all it was a late call but full credit to Haywards Heath for giving us more than 3 hours notice. Very considerate of them.

Was it so, that Sutton cancelled that game amid safety concerns regarding Ebbsfleet’s transgender goalkeeper? I’ve only watched a couple of Women’s games so am not placed to comment on the likelihood of prejudice / discrimination that might occur, but would be interested to know from those who frequent whether they think it would have been a problem. Presumably the Ebbsfleet goalkeeper remains a “constant”, yet other teams are not cancelling fixtures, therefore the issue lies in-house with Sutton?

The controversy lies with Sutton's goalkeeper whose short tenure has come to an abrupt end.
Which is just as well as they are due to appear at Princes Park next weekend. They currently have no keeper now as the reserve keeper wasn't impressed by being denied her chance by a man and quite rightly walked out. This led to them having to field an outfield player between the sticks for their 4-2 defeat at Barking last Sunday.
Serves them right for cheating.
Put it this way, if we had the same keeper down at Dover last Saturday we would have come away with a point atleast.
This keeper was also instrumental in our girls failure to win promotion to the national league, after leading the table for most of last season, while keeping the bus single handedly parked in goal for Saltdean under official protection. There's certainly history here.

Thanks for clearing that up. My mistake about who the ‘keeper in question played for. I felt the KOL article was somewhat ambiguous the other week, though it may well have just been me being simple. Makes you wonder what the world is coming to really, but will leave it there since it’s difficult to know what level of incredulity is acceptable these days.

You wasn't the only one mate. KOL didn't make it clear exactly who was refusing to play. Sutton were very cagey about it for the first few days. They were in denial of all speculation which was pointless because it was soon established it was them who pulled out of the game and Ebbsfleet weren't informed until 11 am Sunday morning, 3 hours before kick-off.
That's got all the hallmarks of a bust up before the away team's coach left their ground.
Maybe Sutton United were too embarrassed to comment on the situation.
Their futile attempt at a cover up didn't keep them out of the Sun, Daily Express or the Mail on Line.
They didn't escape the attentions of Sharron Davies, who I contacted over the Saltdean debacle last season, and BatShitBonkersBritain's Katie Hopkins either.
