FT 0-1
That's the worse Dulwich side I've seen and they've just beat us....

No doubt they would say the same about us. Gut feeling says this is now our level for a while, treading water and going nowherePark Life wrote: Sat Oct 05, 2024 4:56 pm FT 0-1

I’m sure Ady will come out and smile and everything will be glossed over.
The midfield isn’t good enough, what has Ben Allen got to do to get a start.
No real competition for places amongst the back 4 or front 2.
If they are fit then they know they start.
More additions needed.

Players not good enough
Tactics not good enough
Manager not good enough.
My patience is running out. No quality in the final third, no width which is a tactical issue rather than a quality issue.
Above all 80 minutes to make a sub when we are chasing the game is unacceptable.
Out of both cups and mid table at best if things carry on like this. Something has to change.

Starting to feel like last season all over again ! Don’t worry sure the board are going to be as pro-active as always !
Beginning to think Skinner held this club together in all ways and since he became unwell and sadly passed away we have been rudderless as a club

Oh Dear ! The early season optimism is evaporating fast
Seems that Ady has put a squad together that as is may struggle in the
Dripping Pan two pot league, I think he should have been building a team fit to compete in the NLS - if he doesn’t have the B****t then the problem lies with the Board.
I suspect they’ll be quite happy to stay in this league to “Consolidate”
I sincerely hope I’m wrong and a few new recruits will make the difference

Totally agree, Ben Allen needs to start…he needs to stop playing the same old players week in week out, need to freshen it up from time to time and keep the subs/fringe players ticking over, lost 4 of the last 5 games and still stuck with the same team???Kermo18 wrote: Sat Oct 05, 2024 5:12 pm I’m sure Ady will come out and smile and everything will be glossed over.

I only go to home games so I dont see every game.
If anyone thinks that we will challenge as promotion hopefuls with this manager and his team are sadly deluded.
Nowhere near good enough...pathetic performance against Dulwich .

I have to agree HD. I think the next couple of weeks will show the level of ambition the Board really does have for the club this season.Hitchin Dart79 wrote: Sat Oct 05, 2024 5:00 pm ...... Gut feeling says this is now our level for a while, treading water and going nowhere
After a promising start, the cautious optimism is looking a bit thin now and it's evident the current squad isn't strong enough to challenge this year and needs strengthening if we are to even have a sniff of a play-off spot.
The crowds are starting to dwindle too, so action is needed if we are serious about "bouncing back" this season.

That's a bit OTT Paul, certainly not dying, but very much in the doldrums, with no clear strategy (to the fans at least!) on if or how we intend to be contenders again.Paulcanary wrote: Sat Oct 05, 2024 9:56 pmClub is dying …. Currently mid table (and the Isthmian table at that!) obscurity appears to be the height of our ambitions

No offence meant but but it is how many of us feel when you think about things……of course many of us are so frustrated and currently I see no way out…need to turn things around now COYDDave T wrote: Sat Oct 05, 2024 10:07 pmThat's a bit OTT Paul, certainly not dying, but very much in the doldrums, with no clear strategy (to the fans at least!) on if or how we intend to be contenders again.Paulcanary wrote: Sat Oct 05, 2024 9:56 pmClub is dying …. Take away the good start in August and we have more or less free fallen since the remarkable double over Ebbsfleet going back to January 1st 2023, so getting on for two years. It still amazes me that we finished that season in 2nd place with the customary knockout defeat at first hurdle.
In terms of the Trophy, it sounds even worse - Disco Stu’s preview of this game stated that DFC was seeking its first win in the competition since January 2020 (before we knew what Covid meant), which means that we must’ve lost our first games of the tournament in 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023 and now this year.
We weren’t terrible yesterday, just like we weren’t terrible last weekend at Worthing. When Olly Box comes back we have a shot at being better than not terrible, so I’m looking forward to that.

Damn, should have read January 2022. Still, not a good run of FAT results. In 2021/22 we beat Bath, Cray Wanderers and Weymouth before going out to Needham Market (lower league opposition) in round 5.
Since, we have lost three at the first hurdle without scoring. Lower league opposition again in November 2022 against Swindon Supermarine (0-4). A year later Maidstone (0-1) and now Dulwich (0-1).

We were the better side but when Eddie missed that first half chance and their keeper pulled off some good saves I had a feeling it was going to be one of those days. It would be kind to say Dulwich were pretty average with a lot of muscle at the back as Callum Jones would testify and Luke Wanadio still a good player on the wing. They scored with their only decent bit of football a backheel into the path of Wanadio who scored with a low shot. Its all getting a bit depressing!.
Re: FA Trophy 3rd Qualifying Round - Dartford v Dulwich Hamlet - Sat Oct 5 2024
We don’t have a big squad and with the exception of Olly and DOA that’s what we had available to us yesterday other than a small group of youngsters. I agree that Ben Allen must start - he gives that little bit of energy and bite when he’s released from the bench.
Frustrating really - dominated the game but failed to take the few chances we created. The stats will show another home defeat. There is a very clear need for the squad to be strengthened with some experienced players.
Must stay positive, as difficult as that might be.
