Sounds like it wasn't Allen's decision by his remarks. I gather he was well liked by the fans. Obviously not by those above. So, can we expect a better player in, or is it a cost cutting exercise ?

Absolute shambles
The club is in freefall

We had this issue with Dowse with constant outgoings and players coming in for a short time.

Maybe Dowse wasn't the problem after all.

Sounds like a cost cutting exercise to me, Except for the goalkeeper none of these started the game at Billericay

Surprised at Ben Allen being let go,

Never worked out for Matt so makes sense for him to make a clean start elsewhere and gets some games under his belt.

Caiger....... what was the point??

Wish Ben Allen well and he would have every right to feel a bit p****d off as he didn't get a single start and when he came on he did well.
However his departure doesn't surprise me as he obviously didn't figure in Adys long term plans.

New signings must be imminent........

I had hoped it would be some of the players who have actually played this season who would go first.
The keeper going is a no brainier.
Ben Allen going without being given a single start is massively poor management from Pennock.
And if I’m honest I’ve never heard of the other lad.
Another season of the revolving door coming up.

Sounds like an exercise in the balancing of the precarious books, navigating our way through yet another season via the not so very scenic route down a dark alley.

Revolving door Part 127. Good luck to all the players departing, especially Ben Allen, who deserved more opportunities.

I still firmly believe had the board not sat on their hands too long as usual and then pressed the panic button by being more proactive as opposed to reactive, Dowse wouldn't have got us into the play-offs but neither would we have been relegated under him.
Failure to make the big decisions earlier reduced our options for going forward and the only realistic solution on the table at that stage of the season should have been damage limitation, with the view to preservation of our National League South status being paramount and acceptance the play-offs had gone. We go again next season.
Over cautious one minute then imploding the next is not a sustainable way to run a football club.

I said pre-season i didn't think the squad was good enough to mount a title challenge and would need to be tweaked after a month or two so i'm not at all surprised what's going on now.

IMO it was going to be virtually impossible to rebuild a squad completely from scratch and get everything right so let's see who Ady brings in now, and yes i'm sure new signings are imminent.

We've all been unhappy with recent results and calling for improvements so let's see who Ady brings in as if he gets a few decent signings in the right areas, I don't think we'd be too far off.

To be honest Dowse did get us relegated ok he might not have been here when it did happen but it was because of him and he nearly did the the same at Hemel

Hope your right with new players coming in as I have a nagging feeling everything is not so good financially at the club, and it is a cost cutting exercise.

Not at all surprised about the keeper being released, we need someone far better with better handling and will command the box.

Just don’t understand the situation with Sam Caiger a defender we signed after pre season and then put him straight out on a month’s loan. He’s never even played a game for us except for the friendlies and he’s released already, what was the point in signing him if Ady isn’t even going to bother watching him play for us.

Ben Allan I’m surprised to have been released, he never got to start a game only came on from the bench the odd occasion but managed to score a couple of goals. I think he should’ve been given more of a chance ahead of some that have been playing but aren’t really up to it.

Let’s hope Ady has got a couple of gems up his sleeve coming in and not just the 2 newbies we currently have.

Definitely do not think they have been let go for budget reasons, I expect its to make room for more incomings to strengthen the squad . It needed doing unfortunately

I thought Ben was one of our best players. Wonder if there’s something beneath the surface we don’t see. But to be sub every week was a sheer waste of his talent and a management failing in my humble opinion. We’ll see. Saturday is massive. What then? Buggered if I know!

As most have already said, feel for Ben and I feel as though he was not given a fair crack at it. I think he'll do a great job for someone else at our level willing to actually give him a game. The first 11 is light enough as it is, so to let a quality 'squad' player is a bit of a concern

I like some others on here wonder what the hell is going on at DFC.
The turnover of all these players smacks of panic and desperation.
To me we are lower mid table at best and all this chopping and changing makes me wonder if our management know what they is doing.
This club are on a downward spiral and it is very sad to see.

Then why get rid of Allen who wasn't given a fair chance, and when he did come off the bench usually ended up with a goal contribution.

Plenty of players who have started consistently who at the moment aren't good enough.
