Just going to post this and it may be unpopular, but we seem to have lost direction on and off the pitch.
Get told to stick with the boys they will come good, Ady said he missed out on the one player he wanted, yes we have had injuries and our suspension have hit, but if you look at that team last night did you see anyone that could come off the bench and change the game if I am honest…… No

So as I have said where do we go from here?
Canvey Island will come to us on Saturday and have a real believe that they can get something.
Lose Saturday and then what, used to believe as a club we was going places but now stuck in the dog and duck league going nowhere fast, unless something changes we will be stuck in this league again!

In all seriousness, there is still so much to play for and the board have done an amazing job over the summer on the commercial front. Just a shame that this is not being reflected on the playing front. However, we could still be challenging for one of those playoff places come seasons end and that must be our main focus. Should we fail that then I think the club would need a rethink. Personally, I don't like the style of football we play and in particular that formation. We also seem to be technically inferior to a number of teams in thee league but again this could be down to the coaching methods.

All we can do as supporters is keep supporting the team and hope the injury/suspensions clear up quickly. There is also an AGM coming up and I think a number of questions do need to be raised.

Says it all when the expectation and hope is "challenging for a playoff place" When even if we do get in we'll lose like we always do.

I’m a supporter of most recent years (15 in total) so I can’t comment on the sheer hell that must’ve happened when those c*nts painted Watling Street yellow and what our die-hard fans and (now) Board must’ve gone through. I try, very hard, to remember that.

In fact, when I first ventured into PP, DFC were top of THIS league if memory serves. So, I’ve seen a lot of good and not so much bad and remain confident that DFC will come good again.

Based on previous experiences, I thought we’d blow this league apart this season. I thought that a reasonable prospect. I was very up-beat pre season. The best I’ve felt for about four years. I still think we can do it but what is obvious now is that the ‘rules have significantly changed.’ If we go the DFC ‘way’ of conservatism - others, with their sugar daddies, will, inevitably pass us. By the time they have been ‘found out’ and demise, it will be too late for the likes of us, and clubs like us, who do it properly, to rise as quickly as we may have plummeted. It’s a worry. Sadly, I don’t have the answer other than to keep faith with those who control the club. Not necessarily, the team. It’s gonna be a long journey I think.

Talking of getting the youngsters in, I see Dorking have signed a 54 year old goalkeeper.. More of a publicity stunt I feel as he is a regular supporter and I didn't delve too deeply into the article.
But Saturday I'm bringing my boots, just in case there's a chance.
At 72 all the running I do is from the nose.

Reading the article it says he has experience in goalkeeping at local level and despite giving up the game in 1997( same year as me) he keeps his hand in at walking football.

I think after last seasons poor start and then major recovery where I genuinely believed we would win the league I have a lot more patience this year and I honestly believe tomorrow we will start to see the beginning of us getting our confidence back and going on a bit of a run after a really tough start to the season. No coincidence that Ricky haven’t started well either after a 3 horse race last year must have taken a lot out of both clubs seeing Horsham pip both of us to the title.

The signing of Tenent today will hopefully shore up a leaky defence and give more confidence to the whole team.
