Another big test Saturday after W&F’s result last weekend although they had a midweek draw with Canvey Island….

Hoping we are fresher than them and go into the game treating it like we are playing a top 5 side. Reading reports on the Brentwood game they pressed them hard throughout which created the goals to win 5-0 I’m sure Ady and the team are aware of this going into the game.

This match brings up a personal milestone for me. 1,000 competitive matches. I appreciate that many around me on Saturday afternoon will have seen many more matches than I have, but nice to achieve, all the same. For the record, this will be the 742nd home match and I have witnessed 476 victories and seen 1,690 goals in favour and 1,173 against. My all time top scorer is none other than Tony Burman, with 99 goals between 1979 and 1987 and the all important 100th as a player manager on Boxing Day 1993 in a 6-1 victory over Slade Green at Oxford Road (home match) in the Kent League.

Like us, our opponents are currently enjoying a run of good form and they will no doubt be looking to leave Princes Park with at least one point on Saturday evening. Hopefully we will prove to be too strong for them, but it will need us to be very focussed and we will need to reduce the number of unforced errors across the park.

Hoping for a good match and the 477th victory.

Lovely day for a game of footie.
Let's hope we can carry on the run. No game is easy and I'm sure that W&F have got the wind in their sails after a good win at the top club last week.
I also think that Canvey are an improving side so the midweek draw with them was probably a good result for W&F also.
Ade, hopefully, make sure the lads go into this one in the right frame of mind.
